If you are a Magician, Comedian or Juggler, and you find yourself relying on others to cue your music during your act, you are risking that those cues will not occur in the right places. Don't compromise your show's professionalism, place the control back in your hands, while you are performing.
With the StageCue Remote Performance Controller, you can remotely control many of the functions of an iPod player using a small 8-Function handheld wireless transmitter. You have the freedom of producing your own show, which includes skipping pieces of music and routines when not appropriate or manually adjusting the volume of your music. In the case of an unforseen problem, or miscue, you can restart any piece of music with just the press of a button. The StageCue Remote Performance Controller is a small radio frequency transmitter & receiver system designed to control the functions of an iPod. Once your music is recorded, you can use the StageCue system to control volume, track forward, track backward, pause and fade in or out from anywhere in your performance area.
***The automatic functions, Auto-Fade and Auto-Pause, allow you to...
A: automatically fade your music track and have the next track cued-up at full volume,
B: have the iPod automatically pause between tracks on your disc with no programming or recording of sub-audible tones between tracks.
You won't have to interrupt your presentation to manually change tracks on your iPod or call on "Maestro please" to start your music.
Once your music has been recorded, each track can be labeled and you can instantly access any track. The track order can also be rearranged very easily, allowing you to put together a set-list of your music in the actual order that it will run.
Once you have the StageCue hooked up to your iPod, all you have to do is connect power and run the StageCue's audio outputs to the venue's mixer or amplifier. Then you can control your music from anywhere within a 150 foot radius. The StageCue is a wireless remote system that will transmit commands through walls and objects without having to point the transmitter toward the receiver or without having line-of-sight to the receiver. The StageCue encorporates a Superheterodyne, SAW filter, Radio Frequency Transmitter/ Receiver operating at UHF frequencies.
When you receive your StageCue RPC-3, you will be able to operate the StageCue within minutes and you will be in control of your music cues. You will be able to make instant changes to your show while on stage!
Other standard features include integrated swivel-up antenna, LED status indicator and High-quality 8 button remote control with belt clip.
StageCue Automatic Functions Explanation
AutoFade:
When the "FADE" button is pressed on the remote, the following happens:
1. The current Track is faded out.
2. The Player is placed in pause.
3. The next Track is cued up at full-volume.Press the Transmitter button to Play the next Track.
(NOTE: When using the iPod, the next Track is not Faded-in, it starts right away at full volume. Some other manufacturers fade-in the next Track when using the iPod this is not normally desirable).
AutoPause:
All Music Players will play a play list from beginning to end, through all of the tracks, without pausing in-between tracks. AutoPause is an automatic feature that automatically pauses between the tracks of your iPod. The next Track is always cued-up ready to play with just one button press. This is useful if you have numerous short "sound bites" and don't want to AutoFade them all.
Here's what happens when AutoPause is ON:
1. Press the transmitter button to play the first "sound-bite" or audio Track.
2. After the "sound-bite" has played, the second "sound-bite" or audio Track is automatically cued-up ready to play.
3. Pressing the transmitter button again plays the second "sound-bite" or audio track. This automates your show because you minimize the button presses required which minimizes your chance of error in pressing the wrong button. This means that you never have to AutoFade to end a current track and cue the next; it's automatic. If you wish though, you can still use the FADE button to Fade out a specific track at any time.
When AutoPause is ON, the AutoPause and AutoFade functionality is always available to the performer.
When Auto Pause is OFF, AutoFade operates normally, the iPod will play straight through and the performer can pause in the middle of any track indefinitely and start-up instantly where they left off.
An optional 1 inch Digital Display shows you what track you're on.
Just add an iPod of your choice and you can use the StageCue right out of the box. Once you use it, you'll never perform without it!
The StageCue has a very important feature that you will not realize until you get to your show and you have to set-up your sound system. It is the ability to separate the physical location of the StageCue Receiver and the LED track display.
Firstly, the placement of the StageCue will depend on the location of the mixing board at the venue. If the mixing board is on the stage, then it will be easy to keep the StageCue close to you while allowing easy connection of the StageCue Audio Out to the mixing board. This creates an ideal carrier-to-noise ratio for the StageCue receiver and may include areas like off-stage in the wings, behind a curtain or behind you.
When the mixer is at the other end of the room that you are working, you may need to locate the StageCue near the mixer. You may also leave the StageCue on the stage and run an audio "snake" from the Audio Output of your Stage Cue to the mixer across the room.
In either of these scenarios, if you are using the LED Track Display, you will want to be able to see the Track Numbers as you are performing your show. This is where the StageCue shines. You can locate the track display 50 to 100 feet from the location of the StageCue receiver. If your StageCue receiver is off-stage in the wings, behind a curtain or behind you, locate the LED Track display at the front of the stage or in either wing by extending the control cable that connects the StageCue receiver and the LED Track display.
The same is true if you must place your StageCue Receiver at the other end of the room near the mixer. By extending the control cable that connects the StageCue receiver and the LED Track display from the mixer at the other end of the room to the stage you will be able to easily keep track of the StageCue's operation at all times.
Because the LED Track display is "phantom-powered" from the control cable, you do not need to find power for the LED Display. As long as the StageCue Receiver is powered, the LED Track display will operate! This feature has been available since the inception of the StageCue in 2000.
